GreenSand is a scaling-up company that sells olivine to remove CO2 by sequestering CO2 through enhanced weathering with olivine. There are 2 products sold: Certified olivine, which replaces common sand and stones, and the greenSand CO2 Certificates calculated with the validated model. GreenSand focuses on removing certified CO2 using the mineral Olivine. Olivine is available in large quantities around the world and reacts relatively quickly with the (acidic) CO2 in the atmosphere compared to other types of stone. Olivine can be used as a substitute for granite, basalt and porphyry in construction, roads and agriculture.
