CCU project at Clear Lake, TX methanol facility within the Fairway Methanol JV between Celanese and Mitsui. Capable of converting 180,000 tons/yr of industrial CO2 emissions into 130,000 tons/yr of low-carbon methanol per year. Third party sources account for 80% of the captured CO2. Methanol can then be derivatized into various downstream products within the Celanese portfolio under the ECO-C (Engineered Materials) and ECO-CC (Acetyls) names.
